Hello [FIRSTNAME], Welcome to the second edition of the Fusion Ticket newsletter. You receive this newsletter because you registered on our site. We've come a long way since PhpMyTicket and we hope Fusion Ticket has been a part of your successful event planning. If you haven't been to the Fusion Ticketsite in a while here is what we've been up to. Today we have Great news! The Beta 5 version of Fusion Ticket is now available on the DOWNLOADS Page. But first, we want to thank all the donators for their financial support and for their help testing Beta 5! Without their help we would not have a well tested version out today. |

Beta 5 Release
The Beta 5 release is here with new features, security improvements, and lots of bug fixes that our contributors and testers have requested. Security Enhancements While there have been no reports of security breaches in Fusion Ticket it is our full intention to stay ahead of the power curve. As a result we scour the net looking for new threats and potential future threats. New Patron Registration Options In previous beta versions the only option for a patron to purchase tickets were to ‘Register, activate by email, and login’ or ‘Sign in as a guest’. In response to member requests we have expanded these settings. So you can choose how you want the patron to register before they can buy tickets. |
In addition, we have added Captcha security for guests and member registration. For more information read this WIKI page. A New Payment Handling System Beta 5 will have a totally new API for handling payments, “The Extended Payment Handler API” or EPH for short. Although loosely based on the old system, the new EPH’s are more secure, easier to understand, and uniform in structure. This means the older payment systems will no longer work. For more information read this WIKI page. With this change of payment system we also change the way the eph's are distributed. In the past all payment modules where released AS IS in the beta packages. Now only the basic Paypal eph will be released together with the Beta5 package other payment methods will be released soon after Beta5 is released. For this you need to buy a support license to get them. (Donators get an other offer soon). So far, we have already made EPH's for iDeal and Google Checkout other will soon be created. See our webshop for more information. New Requirements To get Fusion Ticket saved and working we needed to change the system requirements slightly. Now you need minimal PHP 5.2.1 or better. PHP 5.3 works but we will not support it until Beta6 is released. Also You need to have Mysql 5.0.0 so it can run. If your server does not, or can not, meet these requirements please contact: hosting@fusionticket.com for information about hosting. Before you start using Beta 5 we recommend you you make a backup of your database files. The database structure is changed in many place, and is not backward compatible with older version of fusionticket. |
Our Roadmap |
New Beta Versions Now Beta5 is released we want to build at least 1 more Beta version where we will re-examine all the db queries, change the way the seat chart parts are created and maintained, and do some more cleaning. |
Shopping Cart With the introduction of beta5 we will also release a new service to you, namely a place where we can sale extra tools, products and services. |
What is Fusion Ticket and Who is it for? |
Fusion Ticket is an open source Box Office and On-line Ticketing Solution. Our goal is to create a complete, easy to maintain, box office solution, yet still offer functionality, design flexibility, and a full feature set, targeting charities and small venues. For the most part it is unrealistic for small organizations to use a professional ticket sales company requiring an initial set up fee in addition to commissions on each ticket sold. |

How can I Help? |
Although we try to maintain this software for as little as possible, we have working lives and other items that need doing. Your donations allow us to spend more time supporting members, developing plug-ins and additional features, instead of the bare minimum. A donation, of any amount, helps get us toward the next release and our ultimate goal. |
Can we contribute more than just money?Of course! If you have good PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript or MySQL knowledge you'll be very welcome to help. If programming is not your strong suit then help other users with the software, as everyone's skills differ. Any time the programmers spend explaining something is time spent away from bug fixing or feature improvements. You may also spend time testing for bugs, reporting them in detail, and work with the programmers, on the IRC, to correct them. Meanwhile, making suggestions to improve usability and functionality are always welcome. |
Maintain the Fusion Ticket Copyright If you really want to help then do not remove or change the copyright notice at the bottom of the webshop, which is also the link to our site, because you then deprive the project of future members and resources.
Thank you for your help and support on behalf of Chris, Niels, Lou, and all those who have contributed to the success of Fusion Ticket. |
